Cat the Word Privacy Policy

Effective date: 20 October 2026

Cat the Word is a game for learning English words. This policy explains, in plain words, what happens to your information when you play.

The short version

We do not collect any personal information about you. We have no servers and no accounts, and nothing you do in the game is sent to us. The game shows ads from Google. Google may collect some device information to show and measure those ads, and you choose whether it may track you.

What stays on your device

Cat the Word saves your progress on your device: which words you know and miss, your best score, and your settings (map, cat, topic, language, music). It also remembers whether you bought Premium. This stays on your device. We cannot see it.

You can erase it at any time by deleting the app.

Ads from Google

Cat the Word shows banner, app-open and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. Players with Premium see no ads.

Before any ad loads, Apple asks whether the app may track you. If you tap Allow, Google may use your device's advertising identifier to choose ads that are more likely to interest you. If you tap Ask App Not to Track, the ads are not personalised. Either way you see the same number of ads. You can change your answer any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Google's use of data is covered by Google's advertising privacy policy.

Apple services the game uses

These are run by Apple, not by us, and are covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

In-app purchase (StoreKit)

If you buy Premium, the payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. The game only learns whether Premium has been bought, so it can unlock it.

Crash and usage data

If you turn on Share With App Developers in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. If you leave it off, we receive nothing.

Children

Cat the Word can be played by children. The game itself collects no personal information from anyone. Ads are shown by Google; there is no chat and no way for players to share information with each other.

Changes to this policy

If the game changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and the effective date above before the change reaches the App Store.
